European Nations Cup 2023: Journalists from eleven nations meet on Lake Garda at the Chervò Golf Spa & Resort San Vigilio
From October 24 to 26, 110 journalists from eleven nations will meet on Lake Garda to take part in the Nations Cup, the European doubles team championship that returns to Italy. This time on the courses of the Chervò Golf Spa & Resort San Vigilio in Pozzolengo (Bs).
Representatives from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Spain and Switzerland will take part in the event, in addition of course to the Italian hosts. Each team consists of ten journalists who play in pairs during the two days of competition: on the first day, the Louisiana Stableford formula is played and on the second day, the same pairs play in a 4-ball bestball format. The best four of five available scores from each team will be included in each day's scoring and the total of these scores on both days will be the final score.
This is the second time that Aigg has organized this event, after the one in Villa Carolina (Alexandria) in 2018. This time, the prestigious Chervò Golf Spa & Resort San Vigilio will be the venue for the event, which is organized with the support of the Lombardy Region.
The San Vigilio resort has 36 holes designed by the German architect Kurt Rossknecht, including 9 executive and 27 championship courses spread over three courses: the Benaco, Solferino and San Martino.
This is the same course that hosted the 77th Italian Open in 2020. Between rolling hills and lush vegetation, the Chervò Golf Spa & Resort San Vigilio is a beautiful golf resort. The project, which has been developed in recent years around the 12th century Benedictine abbey of the same name, is set in over 110 hectares of parkland.
