In summer, the top station of the cable car is the starting point for numerous high-altitude hikes with impressive views of the central Alps and Lake Chiemsee. Built in 1957, the Kampenwand cable car leads from the valley station in Aschau im Chiemgau to the approximately 1,500-meter-high mountain station on the Kampenwand, where not far away the catered Sonnenalm, the Möslarnalm and the Steinlingalm welcome hungry hikers.
